How do we upgrade the Nikon Eclipse Si microscope to reflect fluorescence?

Nikon has designed the ECLIPSE Si to focus on comfort for users who spend hours using the microscopes for a long time. Using optional accessories, the ECLIPSE Si allows for a wide variety of observation methods in addition to brightfield, such as phase contrast, dark field, polarizing, and diascopic fluorescence.

What is diascopic fluorescence? By simply inserting an EX filter slider into the condenser slot and a BA filter slider into the nosepiece slot, fluorescence observation of specimens expressing GFP or stained with fluorescent dyes such as FITC and Alexa 488 can be performed.

Solution of epi-illuminating fluorescence

The LED fluorescence module is specially designed for epi-fluorescence observation. By inserting the module between the microscope observation head and the body, independent observation of each multi-color fluorescence channel can be achieved. It not only supports green fluorescence expression, but also supports red fluorescence expression such as PI, mCherry, TexasRed, Cy3, Cy5, and blue fluorescence expression such as DAPI and Calco fluo.

What is an LED fluorescence module?

A modularly designed attachment for fluorescence microscope to excited specimen and express fluorescence signal. It contains the light source and fluorescence filters. You don’t need any extra accessories.

Features of the LED fluorescence module

    • Various channels of BGYUR excitation lighting from 330nm to 625nm for various fluorescence dyes.
    • Besides the single-channel model, a multi-channel model of 2~4 channels in one unit is available.
    • A digital screen showing the light intensity of each channel by 0~100% works for fluorescence quantification.
    • Independent brightness memory function, each fluorescence channel can independently set the brightness and record the set brightness by default.
